Mrs. Mavis Mills English age 85 of Wallace died Tuesday November 2, 2010 at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation of Wallace. She is survived by one son, Bill English and wife Anne of Wallace, three daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Ann Ingram and husband Sam of Wilmington, Mrs. Cynthia Smith and husband Earl of Carolina Beach and Mrs. Christine Gieselman and husband Richard of North Topsail Beach, five sisters, Mrs. Hazel Giddeons of Willard, Mrs. Bonnie Teachey and husband Henry and Mrs. Armour Moore and husband Lewis, both of Rose Hill, Mrs. Alice Murray and husband Major and Mrs. Merrill Tiderman, both of Wallace, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Born in Duplin County, Mrs. English was the daughter of the late Joe Z. and Viola English Mills and a member of Mills Memorial Advent Christian Church. She also loved to cook, sew and read. Mrs. English was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Norman E. English, one sister, Mary Blackburn, two brothers, Elwood Mills and Bobby Z. Mills and a grandchild, Jim English. Casketbearers will be Justin Brown, Nicholas English, Ryan Gieselman, Dwayne Brown, John Ingram and Christopher Ingram. Honorary bearers will be Forrest Murray, McDonald Southerland, J Scott Gieselman US Navy, Turkey, David Earl Blanton, Lloyd Strickland, Gene Rivenbark, Nick Rivenbark and Brent Dew.
