Melinda Gayle Taylor Stampe of Teachey, NC departed her earthly life to be with her "Great Big Jesus" late Thursday afternoon, November 26, 2020 after a period of declining health.  Born in Lenoir County on May 20. 1970, she is the daughter of Donald Ray and Edna Joyce Stroud Taylor.  She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents--Edna and Earl Stroud and paternal grandparents--Carries and Debbie Taylor.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband--Mark Alan Stampe; children--Jackson and Taylor Stampe of the home; parents--Donald and Edna Taylor; sisters--Donna Marshburn and husband Sammy, Ginger Taylor and husband John Marcucci; parents-in-law--Carolyn and Alan Stampe ; brother-in-law--Chris Stampe and wife Kristen; nephews--Lex Marshburn and wife Hayden and Carries Marshburn and wife Kyndall; niece--Kylie Cain Stampe; great niece--Leighton Marshburn; and an army of family and friends including Dr. Hunter Joh and staff.

Melinda loved her church family at First Baptist.  Her immense faith and her fighting spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her.  In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family, and attending any sporting event and activity of which Jackson and Taylor were a part.  Her "boys" were her greatest joy and blessing.

A service to celebrate her life is set for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Wallace followed by interment in the Rockfish Memorial Cemetery in Wallace.  The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until on Saturday at the home  on 1074 Wellstown Road, Teachey, NC.  Family asks that, rather than floral arrangements, contributions be considered to the college fund of her children--Jackson and Taylor.  Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the Stampe family.
