Mellie Maready Sholar age 93 of Chinquapin died Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Milford & Reba Quinn Hospice Center in Kenansville, NC. She is survived by three daughters, Janice Hatcher and husband Jackie, Beverly Outwater and husband David, both of Chinquapin, Sandy McLawhorn & husband Ryan of Winterville; one son, Linwood Maready and wife Leona of Chinquapin; one sister, Nettie Batchelor of Wallace; one brother, Harry Sholar of Wallace; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A native of Duplin County Mrs. Maready is the daughter of the late Leslie Carl and Estelle Lanier Sholar, Sr. She is preceded in death by her husband Elmo Maready; sisters, Beatrice Sholar and Mary Sholar; brothers, L C. Sholar, Jr., and Paul Sholar.
