Mr. Melvin Lee Dixon, Sr., age 74 of 3885 NC 11 South, Wallace died Sunday, November 22, 2009 at his residence. A Funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 24 at Padgett Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Ray Kennedy. Burial will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 25, 2009 in the Brown Cemetery at Rose Hill. He is survived by two daughters, Carole Fayne of Rose Hill, Linda Powers and husband Ruffin of Hubert, NC; two sons, Mike Dixon and wife Carol of Teachey, Melvin Dixon Jr., and wife Sandra of Albertson, NC; three grandchildren, Dawn Wilson, Kayla Dixon and Faison Powers; one grandson, Chris Fayne; and two great grandchildren, Lane and Alexis Wilson. A native of Duplin County, Mr. Dixon is the son of the late George Lucian Dixon and Lula Mae Kissner Dixon. He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Ruby Casteen Dixon and two sisters, Ellen Hughes and Louise Haithcox. Memorials can be made to Carolina East Hospice Care Center, P. O.
