Mrs. Mildred Stroud Savage age 88 of Teachey died Wednesday June 1, 2011 at her residence. She is survived by four daughters, Vera Clark and husband Tommy and Helen Brown, both of Teachey, Dot Hardison of Wallace and Mildred \"Peanut\" Skidmore and husband Stan of Teachey, one son, James Savage and wife Deborah of Teachey, three sisters, Janice Watson of Delway, Mable Faison and Peggy Hardison, both of Magnolia, eighteen grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. Born November 28, 1922 in Duplin County, Mrs. Savage was the daughter of the late Oscar B. and Beulah Hall Stroud and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. She loved quilting, flowers, working in her yard and especially loved her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Clifton Savage, four sons, Charles Savage, George Savage, David Savage and William Savage, three brothers, Forest Stroud, Franklin Stroud and Arnold Stroud, four sisters, Doris Usher, Dorothy Stroud, Louise Boone and Naomi Grey and a granddaughter, Karen Clark Davis. Casketbearers will be William Hollingsworth, Stanley Skidmore, Royal Johnson, Ivey Knowles, Gary Morton and Mickey Whaley.
