Ms. Nancy Helen Avant, age 60 of Wallace, NC, went home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2015 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. Visitation will be held on Sunday , September 27, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Wallace First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will start at 4:00 pm conducted by Dr. Alan Thompson. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park in Watha, NC.

She is survived by her mother , Nancy Moore Avant of Wallace, NC, her daughter , Lisa S. Gurganus of Watha, NC, her granddaughter, Savannah Gurganus of Watha, NC, her grandson, Noah Gurganus of Watha, NC, her brother, Rufus (Buddy) Avant, Jr. of Wallace, NC, her sister, Debbie Edwards and husband Rashie of Beulaville, NC and a special friend , Sharon Cross of Wallace, NC.

She was born on November 3, 1954 in Duplin County, NC to Nancy Moore Avant and the late Rufus Edward Avant, Sr.
