Mrs. Nancy Pearl Fussell Harrell, age 87, of Rose Hill died peacefully Thursday afternoon, December 31, 2009, at the Oaks of Carolina nursing home in Raleigh. Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, she is survived by two children: Sharon Harrell McDonald of Richfield, Ohio and Benjamin Leon Harrell III of Fuquay Varina, NC, and three grandchildren: Allison Shetzline, Ryan McDonald, and Johonna Harrell. She was the widow of Benjamin Leon Harrell, Jr. of Rose Hill after a marriage of 61 years. A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Harrell was the daughter of William Clyde Fussell and Nannie Pearl Norris Fussell of Teachey, NC. She was a dedicated member of the Rose Hill United Methodist Church, where she served in the choir and participated in many church organizations. She was also an accomplished seamstress and avid gardener, loving to work in her yard raising a large variety of flowers, trees, and shrubs.
