Obituary

Mrs. Navie Sholar Pierce age 93 of 639 Lighthouse Road, Wallace died Wednesday,August 5, 2009 at Pen-Du Rest Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 8, 2009 from Padgett Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. George W. Price and Rev. Gary Avery. Burial will follow in William Sholar Cemetery. She is survived by one daughter, Judy Sholar Glover and husband Charles of Raleigh; three sons, Randy Harold Sholar and wife Beverly of Wallace, James Robert Mulkey of Easley, SC, Jimmy Gerald Sholar and wife Judy of Maple Hill; devoted friend, Lynn Sholar of Wallace; two sister-in-laws, Helen Sholar of Wallace, Doney Faye Sholar of Wallace and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born May 17, 1916 in Duplin County, Mrs. Pierce was the daughter of James Wright Sholar and Margie Holland Henderson and was a member of Oak Dale PFWB Church. She was a very devoted mother and wife and is preceded in death by husbands William Roosevelt Sholar of twenty-six years and Rhoney Pierce of four years. She is also preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters and daughter-in-law Betty Mulkey. Casket Bearers will be William Glen Sholar, Anthony Gerald Sholar, James Buren Sholar, Allen Ray Sholar, Ronnie Dean Sholar, and Gary Lee Sholar. The family suggest those do desiring may make memorials to William Sholar Cemetery Fund, c/o First Bank, P.O. Box 219. Wallace, NC 28466. The family will receive at Padgett Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Friday and at the residence of Randy and Beverly Sholar, 961 Angola Bay Road, Wallace other times.
