Mrs. Nellie Giddens Carter age 84 of Wilmington died Wednesday February 2, 2010 at Liberty Commons in Wilmington. She is survived by one granddaughter, Mrs. Amy Surratt and husband Jeff of Wilmington and two great grandchildren, Christopher and Amanda Surratt, both of Wilmington. Born in Pender County, Mrs. Carter was the daughter of the late Marion and Aslee Sudie Peterson Giddens and was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed sewing and liked to go fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Clarence M. Carter, one daughter, Judy C. Stallings and a great grandson, Trevor Surratt.
