Obituary

Mrs. Norma Blosser Robison, age 86, of Barbour Court Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Smithfield, NC, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, after an extended Illness. Graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13 at Rockfish Memorial Cemetery. Dr. Philip Gladden will conduct the service. Mrs. Robison is the wife of the late William A Robison Jr. She is survived by two sons, Charles A. Robison Sr. and wife Diane of Garner, NC and James A. Robison and wife Sharon of Wallace, NC; three granddaughters, Eleslie Patterson and husband Jeremy of Clemson, SC, Kristin Cottle and husband Bradley of New Bern, NC and Katie Robison, of Wallace, NC; two grandsons, Charles A. Robison Jr. and wife Angela of Batesburg-Leesville, SC, and Brian A. Robison of Garner, NC; four great-granddaughters, Evelyn Robison, Kaya Patterson, Darby Patterson, and Shiloh Patterson; and two great-grand sons, Austin Robison, and Liam Robison. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Mrs. Robison was the daughter of the late Herman G. Blosser and wife Mary Horrocks Blosser. Her brother, Tom Blosser, also preceded her in death. She graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh Pa and received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She was an elementary school teacher in the Pittsburgh City Schools and taught elementary school and High School English and Journalism while living in Batesburg-Leesville, SC. Norma partnered with her husband Bill to start two electronics companies, LECOM, Inc. in 1969 and the Robaqua Corporation in 1978. Through the years Mrs. Robison was an active member of the Third Primitive Methodist Church, Pittsburgh, PA, St. John's Methodist Church, Aiken, SC, Leesville United Methodist Church, Batesburg-Leesville, SC, and Wallace Presbyterian Church, Wallace, NC. Mrs. Robison was an active member of many organizations. These include the Batesburg-Leesville Women's Club, Alpha Delta Kappa teachers sorority, the Ridge Arts Council, The Columbia Festival Orchestra, the Ponderosa Country Club (where she was Ladies Club Champion in 1967) and was a founder of the Ridge Amateur Radio Club in Batesburg-Leesville, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Wallace Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 717, Wallace, NC 28466.
