Mr. Norwood J. English, known as "Buddy" age 88 of Wallace, NC, died on March 4, 2016 at Brian Center Health & Rehab in Wallace, NC. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Shiloh Baptist Church in Chinquapin, NC conducted by the Rev. Jerry Marshburn and the Rev. Dan Sellers. Burial will be on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at English Cemetery at 230 Stokestown Road (behind the English residence) in Wallace, NC. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2016 following the service.

Buddy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Reba Marshburn English of the home, four daughters, Judy Rivenbark and husband David, Jr. of Wallace, NC, Pat Conway and husband Gerald of Wallace, NC, Beverly Hyatt and husband Michael of Wallace, NC and Gwen Jones of Wallace, NC, his grandchildren, Mandy Henderson and husband Jon of Teachey, NC, Sandy Turner and husband LH of Teachey, NC, Dave Rivenbark and wife Mandy of Wallace, NC, Tina Croom of Willard, NC, Allen English of Willard, NC, April Slaughter and husband Josh of Wallace, NC, Madison Hyatt of Wallace, NC and Beth Lavin and husband Mark of Apex, NC, two brothers, Bill English and Emory English, one sister, Dora Brown Rivenbark, a sister-in-law, Ann Floyd, a step sister, Iris Dean Sholar, eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Buddy was born on November 16, 1927 in Duplin County to the late Edgar Stephen and Dora Pauline Brown English. He is also predeceased by three brothers, Franklin English, James Earl English, and Harold English.

Buddy was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming, hunting, spending time with his family and a good cold Pepsi .

Casket Bearers will be Allen English, Dave Rivenbark, Madison Hyatt, LH Turner, Jon Henderson, Josh Slaughter and Mark Lavin. Honorary Bearers will be Jeff English and David Cavenaugh.
