Obituary

Mrs. Patsy Ann Hanchey Hill, age 74 of Wallace, NC, went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2015 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015 at North East PFWB Church conducted by the Rev. Sam Sumner and the Rev. Billy Toler. The family will receive friends following the service on Friday night. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Little Creek Cemetery in Wallace, NC. She is survived by three sons, Robert Dwayne Hanchey and wife Pam of Wallace, NC, Lanford Jay Hanchey and wife Jill of Hanover, MD and Andrew Roy Hanchey and wife Ann Marie of Wallace, NC, seven grandchildren, Amber Brown and husband Robby, Megan Hall and husband Dwayne, Cody Hanchey, Hunter Hanchey, Austin Hanchey, Haleigh Hanchey and Hope Hanchey, two great grandchildren, Jackson Brown and Levi Brown, two brothers, Phelton Brown of Black Mountain, NC and Billy Brown and wife Verne of Roanoke, VA, three sisters, Yvonne Wagner and husband Willard of GA, Shelby Rouse and husband Jimmy of Rose Hill, NC, Peggy Bryan of Burgaw, NC and brother-in-law, Gerald Hanchey and wife Sonja. Born August 27, 1940 in Duplin County, NC, Mrs. Hill was the daughter of the late Lanford Lacy and Wilma Elizabeth (Heath) Brown and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Dwayne Hanchey, her brother, Larry Brown and her granddaughter, Jessica Hanchey. Patsy was a member of North East PFWB Church and loved being surrounded by her family. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano. She especially loved reading her Bible and playing bingo at Huntington. Casketbearers will be Austin Hanchey, Hunter Hanchey, Dwayne Hall, Robby Brown, Cody Hanchey and Eddie Hanchey. The family would like to thank the staff at Huntington Health Care in Burgaw, Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington, NC and New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC for their loving care of Patsy during her illness.
