Mr. Phelton Lawrence Brown, age 70 of Black Mountain, NC, formerly of Willard, NC, died on April 6, 2016 at Black Mountain Neuro Medical Treatment Center. The family will receive friends and family on Monday, April 10, 2016 at 10:00 am at Peniel PFWB Church in Willard, NC. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Peniel PFWB Church in Willard, NC conducted by Rev. Gerald Morton and Rev. Tommy Blanton. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mr. Brown is survived by three sisters, Shelby Rouse and husband, Jimmy of Rose Hill, NC, Yvonne Wagner and husband Willard of Franklin Springs, GA and Peggy Bryan of Burgaw, NC, his brother, William Andrew Brown and wife Vern of Roanoke, VA and several nieces and nephews.

Phelton was born on December 13, 1945 in Pender County, NC to the late Lacy Lanford and Wilma Heath Brown. He is also predeceased by a sister, Patsy Hanchey Hill and a brother, Larry Hildron Brown.

He loved to read his Bible, rocking on the front porch, walking and loved to read poetry. He was a member of Peniel PFWB Church.

Pall Bearers will be Robin Hanchey, Hunter Hanchey, Stuart Bryan, David Morgan, Raymond Hoffmann and Chandler Hoxie.
