Mr. Ralph Chambers, age 87 of Rose Hill, NC, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, surrounded by his family, at Milford & Reba Quinn Hospice Center, Kenansville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Padgett Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Virgil Murphy and Rev. Clarence \"Buddy\" Mitchell. Burial will follow at Devotional Gardens, Warsaw. Surviving besides his wife of 56 years, Oneal (Chestnutt) Chambers are two sons, Mike Chambers and wife Jennefer and Dennis Chambers and wife Lisa, both of Rose Hill, NC, four grandchildren, Ryan Chambers and wife Natalie of Wallace, NC, Shannon Jackson and husband Camron of Teachey, NC, Kristen Merritt and husband Matthew of Rose Hill, NC, and Ashley Blackburn of Rose Hill, NC, four great grandchildren, Caven Chambers, Luke Jackson, Jace Jackson, and Amory Kate Merritt and a niece, Gayle Taylor of Dunedin, Fl. Born July 23, 1925 in Duplin County, Mr. Chambers was the son of the late Paul and Rossie (Jones) Chambers and was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Heath. Ralph enjoyed his job and being outdoors. He loved running his bulldozer and his dragline in which he did for most of his career, but the thing he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family and friends. Casket bearers will be Eugene Fussell, Bobby Ward, Travis Chestnutt, Hubert Howard, Mike Thomas and Brandon Chestnutt.
