Raymond R. Cavenaugh, age 77, of Rose Hill, NC died Friday, December 19, 2009, surrounded by his family. The son of the late Carroll and Dora Cavenaugh, Raymond was born on April 19, 1932 in Wauchula, Florida, but made his home in Magnolia and Rose Hill since childhood. Raymond was retired from J.P. Stevens Company and Guilford Mills. An active member of Carroll St. PFWB Church in Magnolia for 50 years, he served in various capacities including Sunday School Superintendent, deacon and most recently a Trustee. He enjoyed dove hunting, fishing and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mattie; 2 daughters, Lisa Chambers and husband Dennis of Rose Hill, Beverly Booth and husband Truett of Rocky Point; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Blackburn of Lakeland, Florida, Savannah and Jake Booth of Rocky Point.
