Mr. Raymond Alf Hoffmann age 74 of 111 Island Creek Road, Rose Hill died Saturday, August 22, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 28, 2009 at Padgett Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Brian. Doles. He is survived by two daughters, Jody Hoffmann of Rose Hill, Cindy Kurre and husband Bernie of Rose Hill; two sons, Raymond Hoffmann, Jr. and wife Cynthia of Rose Hill, Stephen Hoffmann and wife Maria of Valley Stream, New York; five grand children, Stephanie Murphy and husband Chris of Virginia Beach, VA, Melanie Kurre, Kristopher Kurre, and Rachel Hoffmann of Rose Hill and Stephen Hoffmann, Jr. of Valley Stream, New York. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Hoffmann is the son of the late Alf Hoffmann and Eugenia Mohr. He is preceded in death by his wife Ernestine Parker Hoffmann and one grand daughter, Brittany Kurre. He is a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church and served in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. The family will receive at Padgett Funeral Home from 7:00 until 9:00 pm, Thursday, August 27 and at 111 Island Creek Road other times.
