Mr. Raymond Howard Piner, Sr. age 76 of 676 Willard Rail Road Willard died Sunday October 4, 2009 at his residence. The funeral will be held Wednesday October 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Padgett Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. William Tew and Rev. Rodney Bonham. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife Rochelle Piner of the home, one daughter, Sandra Mills and husband Tim Mills, Jr. of Willard, two sons, Raymond Howard Piner, Jr. and wife Pamela of Penderlea and Ricky Piner of Willard, seven grandchildren, Erica Piner Bohl & husband Jonathan of Burgaw, Brandon Piner of Penderlea, Kelsey Mills, Scott Mills, Alarie Mills, Britton Piner and Kyleigh Piner all of Willard, three brothers, Herman Piner & wife Delphine of Wallace, Alfred Piner & wife Elaine of Willard and Paul Piner & wife Shirley of Wilmington and several nieces & nephews. Born in Pender County Mr. Piner was the son of the late Carl and Etta Piner. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers, Maebelle Packer, Dorothy Strickland, Virginia Bradshaw, Clifton Piner and George Piner. Mr. Piner was the first trustee as well as a deacon of Willard P.F.W.B. Church where he was a member for over 46 years. Casketbearers will be George Piner, Gene Strickland, Alan Amerson, Steve Crews, Wayne Crews and Glen Crews.
