Mrs. Gladys Rebecca Wood Rooks age 79 of Wallace died, Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Brian Health and Rehab Center in Wallace. She is survived by one daughter, Sue Rooks Keene and husband Wayne; one son, Elvin T. (Button) Rooks all of Wallace; one sister Annie Sue Estel of New Egypt, New Jersey; grandchildren, Dwayne Keene, Melissa Knowles and husband Chris all of Wallace, Jessica Straughn and husband Bobby of Warsaw and Kelsey Rooks of Oak Island; great grandchildren, Chloe Straughn of Warsaw, Emily Knowles and Rachel Knowles both of Wallace and several nieces and nephews. A native of Duplin County, Mrs. Rooks is the daughter of the late Steven Ocsar Wood and Annie Pearl Stroud Wood and was a member of the Wallace Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Rooks is preceded in death by brothers, Troy Wood, Gorman wood, Allen Wood, Harold Wood, and Eustace Wood, Sr.
