Mr. Richard Glenn Futrell, age 58 of Kenansville, NC, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Padgett Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, Wallace, NC. Services will be conducted by Rev. George Buster Price. Burial will follow at Devotional Gardens in Warsaw, NC. Visitation will be held 1:00 - 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Padgett Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Bryant Futrell of Rose Hill, NC, four stepchildren, David Hollingsworth, Justin Piner, Brittany Piner and Chris Piner, a brother, Wayne Futrell and wife Reba of Warsaw, NC, two sisters, Frances Futrell Tillman of Hampstead, NC and Cathy Futrell Jackson and husband Pat of Teachey, NC, six nieces and nephews, Rosemary Futrell Blizzard and husband Chris of Kinston, NC, Adam Futrell and wife Laura of Philadelphia, PA, David Whaley of Wallace, NC, Lia Whaley of Hampstead, NC, Emily Whaley Wells and husband J. W. of Greenville, NC and Ashley Jackson of Teachey, NC, three uncles, Hugh Rich and wife Marguerite of Jacksonville, NC, John Rich and wife Edith of Hampstead, NC and Jimmie Rich of Kenansville, NC, five aunts, Zella Stanley and husband Jimmy of Hampstead, NC, Millie Bland and husband Bobby of Kenansville, NC, Ann Stroud of Wilmington, NC, Jean Bowling and husband Donald of Magnolia, NC and Lena Gerhardstein of Cincinnati, OH and a special beloved aunt, Iris Lucas and many cousins. Mr. Futrell was preceded in death by an infant son. Mr. Futrell was born July 20, 1955 in Rose Hill, NC to the late Allen Sherwood and Ruby Faye (Rich) Futrell. He was employed as a foreman with Turlington Lumber Company. He loved to work especially welding and yard work. He was an expert craftsman and could build anything. He loved fishing and his animals.
