Obituary

Mr. Rifton Milo Raynor age 85 of Wallace died Sunday September 25, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lee Marshburn Raynor, of the home, three sons, Alvis Raynor and wife Bernette of Wallace, Craig Stuart Raynor and wife Edwina of Rose Hill, Kellon Lee Raynor and wife Betty Jo of Rose Hill, two sisters-in-law, Virginia Henderson Raynor of Beulaville and Edna Grace Marshburn, six grandchildren, Ricky Darren Raynor and wife Kelly, Andy Paul Raynor and wife Jennifer, Candy Lynette Raynor, Holli Jackson and husband Dustin, Kelly Jo Raynor and Katelee Ann Raynor, ten great grandchildren, Cody Lane Raynor, Brenden Casey Raynor, Tristian Shortis, McKenzie Shortis, Leann Nicole Raynor, Brooklyn Andie Raynor, Alex Avant, Dylan Avant, Rebecca Lane Jackson, Makenzie Tate Jackson and a host of nieces and nephews. Born March 8, 1926 in Duplin County, Mr. Raynor was the son of the late Isaac Tate and Alice Lanier Raynor, was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and served in the US ARMY INFANTRY. He was a farmer, fisherman and an assistant mail carrier. Mr. Raynor was a people person that loved his church where he held every office and served 40 years as the choir director. He was also a past president of the River Swamp Ruritan Club and a member of the Raynor Quartet. He worked for 30 years at M L Lanier & Smith and 9 years for JP Stevens. He played and coached basketball for Chinquapin High School. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tate Stuart Raynor, four sisters and four brothers. Casketbearers will be Ricky Raynor, Andy Raynor, Cody Raynor, Carlton Raynor, Dustin Jackson and Clayton Childs. Honorary bearers will be the Shiloh Baptist Church Deacons.
