Mr. Samuel Thurman Hardison, age 69 of Beulaville, NC, died on August 27, 2016 at Vidant Duplin Hospital. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace, NC. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace, NC conducted by Dr. Ronald Ginn. Burial will be at Riverview Memorial Cemetery in Watha, NC.

Thurman is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean Jackson Hardison of Beulaville, NC, his son, Rodney Alan Hardison and wife Missina of Warsaw, NC, his daughter, Wanda Hardison Edwards and husband John of Beulaville, NC, his grandchildren, Brandy Hardison Chalmers and husband Randy of Abilene, TX, Chancey Ryan Hardison of Boone, NC, Samuel Bradford Hardison of Wilmington, NC, Kenley Hardison of Beulaville, NC, Samantha Hardison of Warsaw, NC, Jessica Hardison of Warsaw, NC and Shelby Jean Edwards of Beulaville, NC, his sisters, LaVoice Hardison Kallestad and husband Peter of Lexington, SC and Joyce Hardison Norris of Beulaville, NC and special friends, J. C. and Shelby Lanier of Rose Hill, NC.

Thurman was born on March 16, 1947 in New Hanover County to the late Sam Hardison, Jr. and Louise Cavenaugh Hardison. He is also predeceased by his son, Samuel Thurman (Buddy) Hardison, Jr.

Thurman was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved woodworking and when his health permitted, loved fishing and hunting. He also loved his beloved dog, Prince.

Casket Bearers will be Jimmy Leon Norris, Durwood Norris, Kelway Howard III, Ronnie Page, Dwayne Brown and John Hardison III.
