Mrs. Sandra Knowles Moore Leap, age 58 of Magnolia, NC, died on March 18, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Magnolia Baptist Church in Magnolia, NC conducted by Rev. Ricky Wood. Burial will be at Knowles Family Cemetery in Rose Hill, NC. The family will receive friends and family on Monday, March 20, 2017 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Padgett Funeral Home in Wallace, NC.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Leap of the home, her daughter, Jennifer Moore Newmons and husband Skip of Magnolia, NC, her grandson, Dylan Joseph Newmons of Magnolia, NC and her brother, James Bolinski, Sr. and wife Brenda of Philadelphia, PA.

She was born on June 12, 1958 in Duplin County, NC to the late William Frank Wells and Geraldine Kennedy Wells. She is also predeceased by her first husband, Joe Moore and her brother, Jerry Watson.

She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends and spending time with them. Sandy loved to shop and travel. She loved dragon flies and hummingbirds. She especially loved her grandson and spoiling him every chance she could. Sandy was known for loving people, never meeting a stranger. She also loved to dance and visiting the mountains.

Casket Bearers will be Justin Watson, Parish Stroud, Robin Eury, James Bolinski, Jr., James Bolinski, Sr and Gary Hollingsworth.

The family would like to thank Dr. Andrew Armstrong and Kirsten Davis at Duke Cancer Center. They would also like to thank all the wonderful people at Duke Cancer Center and all the wonderful friends and family who have gone way beyond to support Sandy and her family during her illness.
