Mrs. Sarah Teachey Rivenbark, age 82, of Wallace, NC, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel conducted by Reverend Hill C. Teachey, Jr. and Reverend George (Buster) Price, Jr. Burial will follow at the Little Pin Hook Cemetery in Teachey, NC. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services chapel.
She is survived by two sons, David Rivenbark, Jr. and wife Judy of Wallace and Terry H. Rivenbark and wife Monie of Wallace, two daughters, Vickie Hudson and husband Bob of Hampstead and Sarah (Angel) Huffman and husband Kenneth of Rose Hill, eight grandchildren, Gina Farrior and husband Chuck, Dona Lanier and husband Denny, Robbie Hudson and wife Missy, Amanda Henderson and husband Jon, Sandra Turner and husband L. H., Richard Hudson and wife Melody, David H. Rivenbark III and wife Mandy and Thomas Huffman, and twenty one great grandchildren, three sisters, Esta Mason, Geraldine Franz and Betty Kelley and husband Larry, a brother, Hill Teachey, Jr. and wife Margie and longtime friend and caregiver, Becky Pugh.
Born April 9, 1931 in Duplin County, NC, Mrs. Rivenbark was the daughter of the late Hill C. and Sarah Mobley Teachey and was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, David Henry Rivenbark, Sr., a great grandson, Wright Lanier and a sister, Mary Price.
Mrs. Rivenbark was affiliated with the Northeast PFW Baptist Church. She loved cooking and feeding her family and sharing her love of cooking with others. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved gardening, helping others, making blankets and baskets and collecting dolls. She was owner and operator of the G & S Country Store. She loved her dogs, Star and Lucy.
Casketbearers will be Mrs. Rivenbark's grandchildren. Honorary casketbearers will be J. L. Nichols, Allen Earl Rivenbark, Stevie Rivenbark, Bray Batts, Billy Goff, Edward Bradshaw, Ricky Kelley, Maurice Kelley, Justin Price, Braxton Price and Brandon Kelley.
A very special thank you goes to her caregivers, in addition to Becky Pugh, Lucy Orengia, Joy Whaley, Iris Maley and Faye McGee, who brought much love, laughter and comfort to her.
