Mrs. Shirley (Best) Evans, age 78 of Wallace, NC, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Pender Memorial Hospital, Burgaw. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Wallace First Baptist Church conducted by Dr. Alan Thompson and Rev. Phil Rivenbark. Burial will follow at Devotional Gardens, Warsaw. The family will receive one hour prior to the service in the church parlor. She is survived by three sons, Russ Evans and wife Ann of Kenansville, NC, Mark Evans and wife Bridgett of Wallace, NC, and David Evans and wife Lisa of Apex, NC, a daughter, Becky Judge and husband Michael of Rose Hill, NC, five grandchildren, Hannah Evans, Abby Evans, Austin Evans, Eden Evans and Rebecca Judge, a brother, R.A. Best and wife Janice of Grantham, NC, several nieces and nephews and a very special daily caregiver, Fanie Mae Dorth of Teachey, NC. Born February 13, 1935 in Clinton, NC, Mrs. Evans was the daughter of the late Russell Andrew and Macie (West) Best and was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Harold B. Evans. Mrs. Evans was a devoted member of the Wallace First Baptist Church. Casket bearers will be Russ Evans, Mark Evans, David Evans, Michael Judge, Austin Evans, and Andy Best.
