Sybil Denise Jones of Wallace, NC, passed from her earthly life on the late afternoon of Sunday, December 11, 2022 while at home.  Born on July 1, 1959, she is the daughter of the late Clifton Oliver and Esther Pearl Stroud Jones.  Also preceding her in death is a son—Derrick Alan Jones.

Left to cherish her memory are her children—James Ryan Harrell (Pam) of Rose Hill and Bobbie Nichols of Rose Hill; siblings—Cliff Jones (Jane) of Sneads Ferry and Ralph Jones of Wilmington; grandchild—Shane Nichols of Rose Hill; special "adopted children"—Jerffrey Quinn, Justin Strickland, and Kevan Sholar; and a long list of "neighborhood children".

Mrs. Jones was born in New Hanover County and attended nursing school after graduation from high school.  She practiced a great part of her career as a registered nurse in the ICU of Duplin General Hospital, now ECU Medical Center of Duplin.

A memorial service to celebrate her life is set for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20,2022 in the chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services of Wallace, NC. A visitation will follow the service in the chapel.  Officiating will be the Reverend Gary Bell. Rather than floral gifts, family asks that contributions be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral costs.
