Mr. Ward Caswell Blanchard, age 86 of Wallace, NC, died on January 13, 2016 at Brian Center Health & Rehab in Wallace, NC. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Rockfish Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Wallace, NC conducted by Rev. Phillip Siebbeles. The family will be accepting visitors at Ann Farrior's home, 203 Corinth Church Rd, Rose Hill, NC.

Ward is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Ann Johnson Blanchard of the home, his daughter, Caswell Ann Farrior and husband Marvin of Rose Hill, NC, his son, Edwin Ward Blanchard and wife Michelle of Wallace, NC, and three grandsons, Ward Jerome Farrior and wife Hillary of Hiddenite, NC, Jonathan Franklin Farrior of Raleigh, NC and Johnson Cavenaugh Blanchard of Wallace, NC.

Ward was born on November 25, 1929 in Duplin County to the late Ward Caswell Blanchard, Sr. and Lyda Pearl Carr Blanchard. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Blanchard and William Blanchard and three sisters, Betty Hawes, Mary Catherine Horne and Doris Brooks.

He loved farming, welding and building things with his hands. His family lovingly referred to him as a "workaholic."
