Mr. William David Batchelor age 85 of Rose Hill died Tuesday November 27, 2012 in Franklinville, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday November 30, 2012 at Padgett Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Terry Batchelor. Burial will follow at Devotional Gardens in Warsaw. The family will receive friends at Padgett Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday.

He is survived by three sons, Garry Batchelor and wife Marilyn of Clinton, NC, Terry Batchelor and wife Vickie and Jeffery Batchelor and wife Tammy,both of Franklinville, NC, three stepsons, William James Carter and wife Dotty of Wallace, NC, George Eli Carter and Danny Carter and wife Suzanne, both of Rose Hill, two sisters, Wilma Clark of Warsaw, NC, and Thelma Sanderson of Pin Hook, NC, one brother, Thomas Batchelor of Frost, TX, 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several step grandchildren.

Born March 13, 1927 in Duplin County, Mr. Batchelor was the son of the late Dewey William and Lilly Mae Lanier Batchelor and was a member of Northeast Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church. He worked in textiles for 38 years and retired from J. P. Stevens. He loved to fish off of Scotch Bonnet Fishing Pier and he enjoyed gardening and working all the time.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Ella Parker Batchelor and two sisters, Annie Batchelor and Rosa Smith.

Casket bearers will be Ricky L. Batchelor, Jeremiah I. Batchelor, David A. Batchelor, Eric D. Carter, Joseph Dixon and William Strickland.
