Mr. William Laurin Blalock, Jr., age 86 of Wallace, NC, died on July 20, 2015 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Rockfish Memorial Cemetery in Wallace, NC conducted by Dr. Philip Gladden. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Wallace Presbyterian Church conducted by Dr. Philip Gladden. A reception will follow the services at Wallace Presbyterian Church in the Currie Hall. William is survived by his wife of 50 years, June Potter Blalock of the home, his daughter, Emily Haskett Blalock Seger and husband Geoffrey of Cincinnati, OH, his son, William Laurin Blalock III and wife Alessandra of Castenaso, Italy, four grandchildren, Owen Johns Seger and Moira Haskett Seger of Cincinnati, OH, Philip William Blalock and Nicholas John Blalock of Castenaso, Italy, and his sister, Jessie Blalock Gray and husband Dean of Westfield, NJ. William was born on February 11, 1929 in New Hanover County to the late William Laurin Blalock, Sr. and Mildred Ellen Haskett Blalock. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ellen Blalock Watts. William was employed by Potter Oil Company for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially adored his grandchildren. He was an avid fisherman. He proudly served his country in the Air Force. Honorary Pall Bearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class of Wallace Presbyterian Church.
