Mr. William Edward Brock, age 79 of Rose Hill, NC, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel conducted by Reverend Ronald Ginn. Burial will follow at Brock Family Cemetery in Rose Hill, NC. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. William is survived by his wife of 52 years, Agnes Brock of Rose Hill, NC, two daughters, Anna Brown and husband Dennis and Gina Hines and husband Larry, all of Rose Hill, NC, a brother, James David Brock and wife Doris, six grandchildren, Dwayne Brown and wife Sandra, Justin Brown, Amanda Brown, Georgiana Whaley and husband Brad, Ashley Holmes and husband Josh and Kevin Hines, and five great grandchildren. Born April 22, 1934 in Rose Hill, NC, Mr. Brock was the son of the late James W. and Vivian (Brown) Brock and was preceded in death by his brother Lenwood Earl Brock and a step-son, Norman Edward Brown, Jr. William was a life-long member of Island Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, farming, and grilling pigs and barbecuing chicken for special events and family gatherings. He farmed for many years and was a great mechanic. He loved singing loudly as he plowed fields and mowing, which he also enjoyed. William loved many things but what was most important to him was his family. He loved his wife faithfully and loved spending time with his family and friends. Pall Bearers will be Kevin Hines, Larry Hines, Dennis Brown, Dwayne Brown, Jimmy Brock and Randy Brock.
