Mr. William Harvey McLean, Sr., age 81 of Wallace, NC, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Golden Care Nursing Home in Wallace, NC. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services, Wallace, NC, conducted by Dr. Alan Thompson. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park in Watha, NC. He is survived by his daughter, Melanie M. Bradshaw and husband Jason of Hampstead, NC, his son, William Harvey McLean, Jr. of Rocky Point, NC, four grandchildren, Sydney & Lydia Bradshaw, Will McLean and Stevenson Jones. Born on January 27, 1933 in Orangeburg County, SC, Mr. McLean was the son of the late Elizabeth Hughes McLean and William Norman McLean. He was a farmer, a veteran of the U.S. Army, a graduate of N. C. State University, Class of 1956 and he retired from General Electric Corporation. He was a member of the Rose Hill Hunting Club and was a member of the Burgaw Baptist Church. Mr. McLean was predeceased by an identical twin brother, Archie Henry McLean. The family would like to say a special Thank You to all the caregivers at Golden Care Nursing Home.
