Mr. William Allen \"Billy\" Stallings age 84 of Wallace died Thursday May 17, 2012 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret Stallings, of the home, one son, William Timothy Stallings of Hampstead, a granddaughter, Amy J. Hawkins of Salt Lake City, UT, a sister, Lois Stallings Judge of Wallace, NC, two brothers, John Alfred Stallings, Jr. and Dewey Franklin Stallings and wife Peggy, all of Wallace, NC, Born October 25, 1927 in Duplin County, Mr. Stallings was the son of the late John Alfred Stallings, Sr. and Lillie Belle Blanton Stallings and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wallace and attended Life Walk Baptist Church of Surf City, NC. Billy was a member of the Woodman of the World. Billy was a graduate of Campbell College, class of 1947. He retired from J. P. Stevens after 32 years of service. He loved fishing, working in the yard, loved helping others and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Allen Joel Stallings. Casket bearers will be Jason Bryan, John Stallings, III, Terry Tew, Douglas Tew, Darwin Stallings and Austin Stallings. Billy was a kind, gentle, loving man who will be greatly missed by family and friends and all who knew him.
