Allen Dearl Pierce of Willard, NC, departed his earthly life on Sunday, July 9, 2023, while at Wallace Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. Born on June 24, 1943, he is the son of the late Almer and Irene Henderson Pierce. Also preceding him in death are his wife--Gloria Jean Slack; a granddaughter—Tiffany Nicole Spell; and siblings—Thurman Pierce and James Earl Pierce.
Left to cherish his memory are daughter—Michelle Ann Pierce Spell and husband Lenny of Harrells; grandchildren—Amanda Hall and husband Kyle of Harrells, Lenny Ray Spell, Jr. and wife Ashley of Clinton; great grandchildren—Reid Hall, Kylie Hall, Luke Spell, and Virginia Spell; siblings—Eugene Pierce and wife Linda of Wallace, Charles Pierce and wife Rosa of Virginia, Pearl Cavenaugh and husband Larry of Magnolia, and Pam Harrell and husband David of Watha; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Pierce was born in Duplin County and moved to the northern states early in life. He returned to Duplin County later in life and worked as a mechanic in the poultry industry for House of Raeford.
Family will greet friends at a visitation on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services of Wallace. A service to celebrate his life is set for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, in the funeral home chapel followed by interment in the Henderson Sholar Cemetery at Pin Hook.
