Annie Ruth Piner

Annie Ruth Piner of Wallace left her earthly home on the early morning of August 8, 2019 at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Wallace, NC.  Born on February 28, 1934, she is the daughter of Orby and Annie Caison Padgett of Pender County.  She is also predeceased by her husband—Leon James Piner; sons—Kenneth Piner and Randy Piner; and sister—Thelma Brown.

Survivors include her chlldren—Gail Ann Smith of Wallace and Glen Dale Piner of Burgaw; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother—Jimmy Padgett and wife Peggy; and special nephew—Terry Brown.

Mrs. Piner is one of those individuals who felt free to share her views and opinions with others.  She enjoyed most things dealing with sewing inclulding cross stitching and embroidery.  She also found  a great pleasure in working in her flower beds.  TV westerns and the Gaither family occupied many hours of her time.  Her canine “Ginger” was one of the loves of her life.  One of her very favorite responses to any issue needing resolution was “It will be alright”. 

Family will greet friends at a visitation on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services in Wallace.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm in the funeral chapel followed by interment in the Mills Church Cemetery on Willard Road.
