Arnold Lee Ellison

Arnold Roy Ellison of Wallace, NC departed his earthly life on the morning of Monday, October 30, 2023, while at home.  Born on October 8, 1940, he is the son of the late Clarence Alfred and Mary Deutsch Ellison.  He is also preceded in death by siblings—Karen Ellison and Bobby Ellison.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife—Sharon Lee Ellison of the home; sons—Kenneth DuBois of Bristol (CT), Edward DuBois of New Britain (CT), Janet Swerko of Winter Garden (FL), and Patricia DuBois of Marion (SC); and nine grandchildren.

Mr. Ellison was born in the state of Connecticut.  He worked hard at a series of tough jobs before deciding to serve in the US Army.  After he retired from military service, he spent his later work career as a delivery driver for the auto parts industry. After visiting North Carolina, he chose to settle down here and spend the rest of his days enjoying the small-town way of life, also volunteering at a local food pantry.  A man of strong will and a desire to care for those around him, he loved his family, and especially his grandchildren, more than anything on earth.

A memorial service to celebrate his life is set for 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023, in the 401 West Main Street chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services of Wallace, NC.
