Dan Brown Obituary

John Dandy “Dan” Brown of Wallace, NC, passed from his earthly life on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 while in Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center.  Born May 25, 1947, he is the son of the late John D. and Rebecca Blanton Brown.  Also preceding him in death is a brother—Douglas Foy Brown.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife—Betty Marie Owens Brown of Wallace; children—Jimmy Dwayne Brown and wife Erica of Leland, Johnnie Glenn Brown and wife Mattie of Richlands, and Kristie Brown Maready and husband Lynwood of Harrells; brother—Charles Clifton Brown of Lyman; grandchildren—Ashley Brown of Castle Hayne, Kaylee Brown of Leland, Nicholas Adams and wife Kayla of Willard, Rachel Adams of Wallace, and Justin Adams of Wallace.

Mr. Brown was a man full of humor at any time anyone encountered him and was always ready for a good conversation.  He was more interested in how others were doing, rather than how he was feeling.  Starting work as a mechanic for Cavenaugh Chevrolet at the age of fifteen, and then working for Jim Russ Chevrolet, he retired in 2012.

A memorial service to celebrate his life is set for 3:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 in the Wallace Assembly of God Church.  Officiating will be the Reverend Leo Bracken.  Family is requesting that, rather than floral arrangements, memorial contributions be considered to the Wallace Assembly of God - PO Box 248--Wallace, North Carolina 28466
