Richard "Daniel" Brown of Wallace, NC, passed from his earthly life on the early evening of Wednesday, February 2, 2022, while at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Born on October 18, 1973 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, he is the son of Jamesa Jean "Mimi" Powell and the late Richard Leighton Brown. Also preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents--Margaret Hall and Richard Noel Brown; and maternal grandparents--Roberta Jean and James Whitney Daniels.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother and stepfather--Jamesa "Mimi" and Michael Glenn Powell of Rose Hill; daughters--Alexis Paige Brown and Chloe Noelle Brown both of Teachey, NC; stepdaughter--Elyssa Rae Tharrington; significant other--Mary Frances Cottle of Wallace; and loving canine companions--"Dude" and "Roxy".
Daniel was a man who was full of life and enjoyed laughter to the fullest. He loved everyone and everything. His love of family was most important of all his earthly experiences, especially his daughters--Alexis and Chloe. Daniel spent most of his work career as a truck mechanic for a trucking company in Wallace.
A service to celebrate his life is set for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022, in the 401 West Main Street chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services of Wallace. Officiating will be Pastor Brad Carter. The family will greet friends at a visitation just prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Family asks that, rather than flowers, contributions be considered to Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services for funeral costs.
