Delores Jean Murphy of Magnolia, NC, passed from her earthly life on the morning of Wednesday, February 8, 2023 while at home. Born on September 29, 1934, she is the daughter of the late Clyde and Mary Eliza Williams. She is also preceded in death by her husband—David Murphy; daughter—Diane Hartley; grandson—Matthew King; and siblings—Catherine Smith and Mary Ruth Rivenbark.
Left to cherish her memory are her children—Nancy Bland (Edward) of Rose Hill, Kaye Williams (Ronald) of Magnolia, and Kathy King of Turkey; grandchildren—David Andrews (Melissa) of Roseboro, Ronald Williams, Jr. (Kimberly) of Magnolia, and Adam Hartley of Magnolia; great grandchildren—Haley Andrews and Hampton Case Williams; special friend—Sonjia Rivenbark; special nieces—Lynn Eason of Rose Hill and Sue Wood (Dickie) of Richlands.
Mrs. Murphy was born in Duplin County and spent most of her life there working beside her husband on their farm.
A service to celebrate her life is set for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 in the 401 West Main Street chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services in Wallace, NC. Officiating will be the Reverend Ray Kennedy. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Clay Hill Cemetery on Highway 11, Rose Hill, NC
