Doris Christine Teachey

Mrs. Doris Christine Teachey, 98, of Wallace, NC passed from her earthly life during the late afternoon of Saturday, November 20, 2021 while at the Laurels of Pender in Burgaw, NC.  Born on June 17, 1923, she is the daughter of the late Clarence Russell and Minnie Idella Rivenbark Basden Bryan.  She is also preceded in death by her husband--Norwood Lee Teachey; step-father--James Wiley Bryan; and siblings--Vena Bryan, Nelda Edwards, and Howard Basden.

Left to cherish her memory are her children--Tama Rivenbark and husband Mickey of Wallace and Dean Teachey and wife Norma of Beulaville; grandchildren--Bruce Rivenbark and wife Jennifer of Jacksonville (NC), Jamie Teachey and wife Melissa of Jacksonville (NC), and Rhonda Thompson and husband Keith of Hamstead; great grandchildren--Jacob, Brody, Emma. Cayman. Madison, Kaitlyn, Charlie, and C.J.

The family will greet friends at a visitation from 7-9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 in the 401 West Main Street chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services in Wallace.  A service to celebrate her life is set for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Island Creek Baptist Church and will be officiated by Dr Ronald Ginn.  Interment will follow in the Little Creek Cemetery on Hanchey Road in Wallace.  Family requests that contributions be considered to the Island Creek Baptist Church rather than floral gifts.
