Elizabeth Teachey Blair

Elizabeth Teachey Blair, age 96, passed from her earthly life on April 5, 2022, while at her home in Wallace, NC.

Elizabeth was born January 22, 1926, in Duplin County, NC to the late Roscoe Teachey and Ivey Evelyn Cook Teachey. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband James Seaborn Blair Jr, MD, and her brother Roscoe Gordon Teachey.

 Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Elizabeth Ivey Blair MD PhD, of Wallace, sons, James Seaborn Blair III, MD (Sharon) of Surf City and Mott Parks Blair IV, MD (Jennifer) of Wallace; grandchildren Daniel Brooks Gunn of Wallace, Margaret Teachey Blair of Wallace, Anna Elizabeth Blair of Hampstead, Katherine Blakeney Blair (Austin Benson) of Jacksonville, James Seaborn Blair IV of Surf City, Cecilia Elizabeth Blair of Wilmington, Ivey Catherine Blair of Durham and Mott Parks Blair V of Wallace.

Elizabeth was the devoted wife of a family physician, the mother of one pediatrician and two-family physicians and a career educator.  She was a woman of great wisdom and strength who worked hard to make the world a better place.   

A funeral service will be held at Padgett Funeral and Cremation Services of Wallace, NC on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 11:00 am with visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am. Private burial will follow.

                In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Nature Conservancy in memory of Mrs. Blair.
