Elsie Mae (Rivenbark) Lane

Elsie Mae Rivenbark Lane, age 85, of Wallace, NC passed from her earthly life on Thursday, January 21, 2021 surrounded by her “Gardens of Rose Hill family”.  She was born August 27, 1935 in Willard, NC to the late Jessie May and Annie English Rivenbark.  She was also preceded in death by her husband—Joseph Leonard “Slab” Lane.

Left to cherish her memory are her children—Tony Lane and wife Mary Anne of Chinquapin and Ronda L. Rivenbark and husband Gerald of Rose Hill; grandchildren—Matthew Lane and wife Kelly, Melissa L. Weston and husband Craig, Gerron R. Bishop and husband Justin, and Anna R. Henderson and husband Adam; great grandchildren—Crissa Weston, Ayden Lane, Evan Lane, Owen Lane, Abel Henderson; and many nieces and nephews. 

Mrs. Elsie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wallace, NC and her family worshipped there for many years.  She enjoyed sewing, making jewelry, word puzzles, and dot to dot games.  She enjoyed, more than most people, her ability to talk to others, whether she knew them or not.  Above all, she loved her family more than anything on earth.  In lieu of flowers, family asks that contributions be considered to the Gardens of Rose Hill in memory of Mrs. Lane.

A graveside service to celebrate her life is set for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021 in the Rockfish Memorial Gardens of Wallace.  The family would like to thank the many caretakers and staff of The Gardens of Rose Hill for their excellent care during her stay there.  Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the Lane family.
