Elsie Ethelyne Baker Usher

Elsie Ethelyne Baker Usher, age 86, of Brices Store Road, Rose Hill, left this life unexpectedly on the early morning of Saturday, December 1, 2018 while at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. Born January 26, 1932, in Rose Hill, NC, she was the daughter of the late Norton Evans Baker and Lonie Anders Baker and the widow of Charlie Juston Usher. She was also predeceased by brothers--Norton Baker, Harland Baker, Felton Baker, Bennie Baker, Durwood Baker, Anson Lee Baker, Ellis Grey Baker, Deford Baker, and Donald Ray Baker.

She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She was also a faithful member of Concord Baptist Church, holding various jobs throughout the years. Cooking and reading were her favorite pastimes along with spending time with her grandchildren and greatchildren. Mrs. Usher based her life on preparing for her trip to heaven.

Surviving are her loving children--Gary Evans Usher and wife Terry of Rose Hill, Randall Craig Usher and wife Susan of Carrabelle, Florida, Donna Usher Wilson and husband Steve of Magnolia, and Charlie Juston Usher, Jr. and wife Joy of Watha; sister--Leathia Mae Lanier and husband Billy Ray of Hampstead; grandchildren--Steven Bryan Wilson and wife Melissa of Hampstead, Cameron Usher DeVane and husband Johnathan of Rose Hill, Wesley Ryan Wilson of Wrightsville Beach, Stephanie Wilson Sherman and husband Brandon of Hampstead, Randall Craig Usher, Jr. and wife Cassandra of Dover, Delaware, Allison Usher Page and husband Dylan of Wallace, Chelsea Usher Dowling and husband Thomas of Inverness, Florida, and Ashley Noelle Usher of Watha; great grandchildren--Tyler, Gary Anna, Carsten, Aubree, Laken, Anna Grace, and John Wesley.

Casket Bearers will be Bryan Wilson, Wesley Wilson, Craig Usher, Johnathan DeVane, Brandon Sherman, Thomas Dowling, Dylan Page, and Jake Mazur.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Padgett Funeral and Cremation Services in Wallace, NC and at other times at the residence on 1264 Brices Store Road, Rose Hill. A service honoring her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Concord Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Jimmy Johnson. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
