James Malcolm Hall, Jr.

James Malcolm Hall, Jr , 83, husband of Lois Sykes Hall, passed away September 5, 2022 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. Jim was born on November 11, 1938 in Watha, NC , son of James Malcolm and Louise Wooten Hall. He was a graduate of Burgaw High School (1957 and on the All State high school basketball team) ,East Carolina College (1961 with a full basketball scholarship), North Carolina Agriculture and Technical College, (1976 Masters Degree). He spent his career as an educator in the Union School District of Sampson County.

He was happiest when he was building -(family vacation homes etc) or playing duplicate bridge with friends.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. As a father he instilled in his sons a strong work ethic that has served them well in their adult lives. He totally cherished his family as they did him. He will be forever missed.

He is survived by his three sons, James (Mac) Malcolm ,III (Terri), Dwight Peyton (Elizabeth) and Jason Henry ( Malinda); six grandchildren, Cameron (Erin), Reid, Ethan, Jackson , Sydney, and Peyton; a much loved sister, Betty Jean Evans and two cherished nephews, James and Ralph Evans ; five dear nieces, Susan Johnson, Leisha MacMillian , Jackie Davis, Regina Perseghen, and Dianne Knowles. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as sisters Virginia Ruth King, Dorothy Perseghen, and Sylvia Lee Walker.

A memorial service will be held at the Wallace Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11:00. Visitation will be in the sanctuary at 10:00.
