James Franklin Kissner of Dunn, formerly of Rose Hill, departed his earthly life on September 16, 2020, while at Emerald Health & Rehabilitation in Lillington, NC. Born on May 25, 1936, he was the son of the late Henry Franklin and Adele Dixon Kissner. He was also preceded in death by his sister—Elizabeth Kissner.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife—Gale Brooks Kissner of the home; son—Wayne Kissner of Rose Hill; stepdaughter—Lynn Knowles Mills and husband Greg of Oak Island; granddaughter—Heather York and husband Stephen of Erwin; and four great grandchildren.
Mr. Kissner worked a great part of his work career in administration for the North Carolina Department of Corrections. He was born in Duplin County and spent a good part of his life there before moving to Dunn with his wife in his later years. He enjoyed his tractor and golf cart and “piddling” in his back yard. Most of all he enjoyed his family who he loved dearly.
No services are planned at this time.
