Born on October 10, 1943 in Duplin County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Bessie Maready Likens of Chinquapin, NC. She was also preceded in death by her husband—Donald Earl Williams; daughter—Betty Whitman; and siblings—Charles Likens, Norma Williams, Danny Likens, and Norwood Likens.

Mrs. Williams was born in the Chinquapin area of Duplin County and grew up there in a family with six children—where there was not a dull moment. At a young age, she married Donald Earl Williams and moved to Magnolia, NC to farm with her husband. She was dedicated to her husbands’ livelihood in agriculture and spent her summers working on the farm with him. During the winter she worked at JP Stevens in Wallace or at Lundy Packing Company in Clinton. She enjoyed cooking a great deal and if she expected company for a meal her only question was “how many” and she would then start cooking. She loved family dearly but her favorite thing in the world was spending time with her grandchildren.
A service to celebrate her life is set for 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in the Concord Baptist Church, Magnolia, NC. Greeting of friends will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Devotional Gardens of Warsaw, NC. Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services is serving the Williams family.
