John Edward Jackson

John Edward Jackson of Teachey, NC departed his earthly life in the late evening of Tuesday, November 17, 2020 while at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC.  Born on February 23, 1940 in Duplin County, he was the son of the late Wilbert Vance and Rebecca Mae Robinson Jackson of Teachey.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife--Eunice Catherine Knowles Jackson; sons--Vance Jackson and wife Angie, Allen Jackson and wife Barbie, and Glenn Jackson, all of Teachey; brothers-- Daniel Jackson and wife Julie and David Jackson and wife Frances, both of Teachey; sisters--Edith Ann Henderson of Rose Hill and Lena Mae English of Teachey; grandchildren--Jessica, Hunter, Will, Shannon, Kristen, and Coby; great grandchildren--Illyana, Kaidyn, Willow, Ashton, Luke, Jace, Amory, Addy, Ben, and Kamdyn; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jackson spent  many of his working years as a butcher for A & P, Billy's Beef and Pork, and other grocery stores during his life.  He married the love of his life in his younger years and had known her since the age of seven.  They were together seventy-three years and married for sixty-one years.  During this time together, the couple shared their wonderful values with three sons.  A man of a few words, he was dearly loved by all who made his acquaintance.  This is especially true when it comes to his Corinth Baptist Church family.

A graveside service to celebrate his life is set for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2020 in the Rockfish Memorial Cemetery in Wallace.  Officiating will the the Reverend Phil Eakins.  Family asks that, rather than floral gifts, contributions be considered to the Corinth Baptist Church building fund.  Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the Jackson family.
