Mrs. Joyce Mae Howell Aycock of Wallace departed from this earthly life on the afternoon of August 31, 2020 while a resident of Woodbury Wellness Center of Hampstead, North Carolina. She was born in Wayne County on October 17, 1931.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of fifty-five years—Jacob Wesley Aycock, Jr; children--Jacob Wesley Aycock III and wife Eileen of Wilmington; Robert H. Aycock and wife Linda of Hampstead; and Patricia S. Blanchard and husband Morton of Topsail Beach; grandchildren—Joe Blanchard and wife Lindsey of Wallace, Ronda Aycock of Los Angeles, Wes Aycock (deceased), Wesley Aycock of Durham, Jason Aycock and wife Leah of Cary, and Benjamin Blanchard and wife Lauren of Raleigh; and great grandchildren—Emma Jean, Britton, and Taylor.
Mrs. Joyce worked for many years as a secretary in the paper manufacturing industry. She was a member of the Rose Hill Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed reading, working in her yard and garden, and cooking many different foods but was noted for her cranberry poppy-seed bread. Above all, she enjoyed her family and most specially was spending time at the beach with her beloved husband.
A private family service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley, North Carolina.
