Mrs. Joyce Aleane Jones Hardison of Rose Hill, NC, entered Heaven's gates late Saturday night, May 30, 2020 while at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. Born in Duplin County on August 3, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Dallas Frank and Carrie Maxwell Jones of Duplin County. Also preceding her in death are her husband--Norman Hardison; brothers--Dallas Earl Jones, Jr. and Carl Ray Jones.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter--Deborah H. King and husband JB King of Fayetteville, NC; grandson--Jordan Bradley King and wife Anna of Wilson; great-granddaughters--Hadassah Grace, Trinity Ruth, and Selah Joy; siblings--Aubrey Clarence Jones of Wilmington, Betty Jean Fleszar of Rose Hill, and Ruby Elizabeth King of Rose Hill; and sister-in-law--Frances Jones of Jonesboro, GA.
Mrs. Hardison was a Godly woman who loved Jesus as her Lord and served Him in several areas at her church such as choir and WMU. Having worked in the church nursery for more than 30 years, she was called "Grandma Joyce" or "Aunt Joyce" by many kids who continued to call her that as grownups.
Mrs. Joyce was a cheerleader at Rose Hill High School in the 1950's and kept this positive spirit the rest of her life. She retired from Stevco in 1999 after 40 years of working there. Mrs. Joyce was "The Avon Lady" for more than 30 years and continued with this title to current days. She loved all her family but her grandson, Jordan, and her three great granddaughters held a special place in her heart.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Rose Hill Baptist Church, officiated by Reverend Steve Leroux. Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the Hardison family. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be given in Mrs. Joyce's memory to Rose Hill Baptist Church for the purchase of Gideon Bilbles.
