Leta Gray Roberts Liles of Wallace, NC passed from her earthly life late in the evening of Tuesday, January 19, 2021 while at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC. Born on March 2, 1933 in Johnston County, she is the daughter of the late Aaron Cleafus and Pearl Parrish Roberts of Johnston County. Also preceding her in death are her husband—Worley Weldon Liles and a brother—Fenner Jerald Roberts.
Left to cherish her memory are her children—Connie Liles Hatcher and husband Allen of Chinquapin and Worley Robbie Liles and wife Linda of Goldsboro; grandchildren—Missy, Liz, Mike, Jennifer, Jon, Kristyn, Kimberlee, and April; six great grandchildren; sisters—Marie Byrd, Carra King, and Barilla Dean; and very special friend—Joe Moore.
Mrs. Leta grew up in Johnston County and worked on the farm with her family. When she and Mr. Liles came to Wallace, they owned and operated a hotel for a number of years and then were owner and operators of a laundromat for about fifteen years. She enjoyed sewing and Christian music. The couple enjoyed going to the mountains and touring fruit orchards along the way.
A graveside service to celebrate her life is set for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 in Riverview Memorial Park of Watha. Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the Liles family.
