Linda Bennett Cavenaugh Suttles of Wallace, NC departed her earthly home on the morning of August 6, 2020 while at home surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 13, 1951, she is the daughter of the late William Joseph and Laura Alice Garriss Cavenaugh. Also preceding her in death are her daughter-in-law Beth Suttles and grandchildren Richard Suttles and Hanaleigh Suttles.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons--Stephen Suttles and wife Holly of Raleigh and Brian Suttles of Wallace; fiance' James McMillan of Watha; grandchildren--Layne and Sydney Suttles of Raleigh; sister--Louise Padgett and husband Sam of Siler City; niece and nephews--Ray Padgett of Willow Springs, Dudley Padgett of Pittsboro, and Kim Padgett of Pittsboro; special friends--Geraldine Futrell, Anita Hanchey, June Cavenaugh, and Lisa Mote.
Linda's passion was music and for many years she played piano and organ for the Northeast Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church in the Northeast community of Wallace. Prior to her retirement in April, she worked with the New Hanover County Department of Social Services in Wilmington, NC. Linda had an unending and unconditional love for her family and her departure to heaven will leave a tremendous void in their lives.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at the Church at Pin Hook. Officiating will be the Reverend George "Buster" Price, Reverend Billy Toler, Reverend Kevin Peterson, and Reverend David Walker. Family will arrive at the church at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be after the service in Cavenaugh Family Cemetery. Floral arrangements are appreciated or please consider a contribution in Linda's memory to Lower Cape fear Hospice of Wilmington, NC.
