Mary Caison Moore of Rose Hill departed her earthly life for her heavenly home during the late morning of Wednesday, March 16, 2022 while at home. Born on November 1, 1936, she is the daughter of the late Jesse Henry and Hattie Pearl Chadwick Caison of Pender County. Also preceding her in death are her husband of forty-four years—John A. “Pete” Moore; brother—Jesse Henry “Jay” Caison; and son—Nelson L. Moore.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister—DeLois Caison Cording of Watha; children—Rosalie Riley of Rose Hill, Michael L. Moore of Wilmington, Lynetta K. Moore of Rose Hill, and John A. Moore II (Garland Whaley) of Rose Hill; grandchildren—Garry Riley of Rose Hill , Suzanna R. Fennell of Rose Hill, Barbara Hettinger of Sanford, Susan Williams of Wallace, and Aaron Moore of Virginia; four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Mrs. Moore attended the Church of Pentecostal Gathering in Wallace. During her work career she worked for several businesses in the Wallace area including the Holland Shelter Restaurant, Hardee’s, Hurry-Up Gas Station, and Wallace Enterprise.
A service to celebrate her life is set for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 in the Church of Pentecostal Gathering of Wallace. Officiating will be the Reverend Rodney Bonham. A family night to greet friends is set for 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022 in the 401 West Main Street chapel of Padgett Funeral & Cremation Services in Wallace. Interment will follow the service on Saturday in the Duplin Memorial Gardens of Teachey, NC.
